Lester Bridaham
As museum director and artist, Bridaham
was trained as a chemical engineer at MIT.
While working in the steel business in the
1920s, he was called to jury duty in N.Y.C.,
where during the evenings he indulged his
passion for art by attending classes at the
Art Students League studying under Kimon
Nicolaides. He went on to paint in France
and Morocco before training at Harvard in
Museum Administration. Lester then
directed museum operations at the Art
Institute of Chicago and in New Orleans,
before retiring to paint. He died in 1992.
