Vivian Bridaham Banta

Vivian wears multiple hats, one as a retired real estate broker, one as a curator of her parents’ art collection from Chicago and New York from the 1930’s and 40’s and a new venture owning and managing a beautiful rental cottage in France, the Nonpareil Cottage.

With the whole world at our feet, we have placed one foot in Maine and one foot in France.

John Erskine Banta and I married in 2017 on a friend’s ranch in Montana. We had met each other at college at Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. After a very successful career in the Hotel Business, John is enjoying retirement. Now we are practicing geographic diversification, buying and investing in real estate out of the United States.

After 30 years as a Real Estate Broker, mainly with Sotheby’s International Realty in Montana, Vivian retired in 2023 and joined John in Maine.

Vivian was born in Chicago and grew up in New Orleans, Winnetka and Denver. She graduated from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration and worked in the business for 8 years owning 2 bars with her first husband in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands and Trumansburg, NY.

She became a partner in two cattle ranches in SW Montana in the 1970’s and learned to love the land of Montana. In the 80’s she lived in Tacoma, Washington, working for Merril Lynch as a Broker. In the late 80’s she returned to Montana and started to invest in real estate in Bozeman. She started her own real estate firm in 1995, The Bridaham Collection.
